Hello, it's nice to meet you!
I am a mom of two caring, imaginative and adventurous children. I love witnessing them explore the world and develop their own personalities. When I am not spending time with my family, I enjoy sewing quilts and clothes, hosting game nights and scuba diving. I am working towards my master scuba diver certification as I check off a wish list of adventure dives around the world.
My Story
Graduating from high school I knew that I wanted to make a positive impact in the world. I recall a conversation with my parents about wanting to work in the non-profit sector and my parents asked, "so you want to be a volunteer for the rest of your life?" I replied, "I know that I can make a career of doing good for this world."
This passion led me to study public administration and social work. I became an advocate for youth civic engagement and mental wellness. By volunteering internationally, I realized that social change can only be sustainable if resources support community-driven solutions, which is why I spent the next decade committed to a local charity. Now, I have the insights, skills and knowledge to be able to apply the same principles on the national and global stages.
I recognize that the value I bring is to support and work collaboratively with others. I value servant leadership with a strengths-based management style. I am creative, sincere, a systems-thinker, a problem-solver and occassionally stubourn. My greatest strength is my enthusiasm, which brings people together and motivates teams to accomplish a common objective.
