COVID Emergency Response Fund Impact Report | Fall 2022
In response to COVID-19, I activated community resources and established the Windsor-Essex Food Helpline. Working with corporate partners, we were able to provide a 24-hour helpline to connect families in the region with access to grocery store gift cards or food baskets.
Our efforts resulted in 3,300 referrals to food support programs, 1,534 food baskets delivered, $45,000 in grocery gift cards distributed to over 1,000 people, 30% of whom were unemployed becaue of COVID-19.
